While I was collecting recommendations to fill up the Snow Removal listings, members gave me some great tips on choosing a good snow removal service. Of course you should also check the Ask Around listings here.
- Chose a contractor based close to your home or premises. After a heavy snowfall contractors, quite reasonably, work outwards from their base point.
- Look for a contractor who does landscape or other local work in the summer. These are less likely to be 'fly-by-night' operations
- The City of Ottawa suggests you only use an operator with a City License. The license plate should be visible on all their equipment
